Textures
There are five textures in the Novozymes texture palette, cf. below:
-
3 floral textures: Spray, Horizontal Floral or Vertical Floral
-
Vertical Stripe
-
Clover Fill
To each texture different rules apply, and this can alter their character. The following rules, however, apply for all textures:
-
Only one floral texture (Spray, Horizontal Floral or Vertical Floral) may be applied to any application.
-
Any of these floral textures may be used in conjunction with the Vertical Stripe texture.
-
The Clover Fill pattern may only be used on blank spaces in the absence of all other design elements.
-
All textures must be applied as an overlay.
-
To ensure a dynamic and fluid feel, no texture may be bound by a Dimensional Plane
-
When applying textures, ensure the clarity of your communication by considering the scale and positioning of all textural elements selected for a layout.

Background and meaning
Textures play a key role in composing the Novozymes look and feel. Much like letters in the alphabet, each texture serves a specific purpose and should be used to communicate certain ideas. By providing a more robust set of elements that communicate Novozymes, we allow the brand to become more smashable and provide the designer with more options with which to communicate the Novozymes message.
The Novozymes textures also serve to visually represent each of the Brand Pillars:
-
Sustainable Solutions is communicated through the organic shapes contained in these textures.
-
Uncommon Connection is evoked through their unusual and dynamic configuration.
-
What’s Coming is expressed through the open space used in conjunction with the textures by evoking the blank canvas of tomorrow.
As a whole, the Novozymes texture palette communicates abundance and celebration. They create the illusion of multiple dimensions in layout and bring a sense of life and animation to Novozymes applications.
